American Idol judge Simon Cowell has predicted that Adam Lambert is going to win the Fox singing competition this year, according to an Associated Press report. Cowell made his remarks on yesterday’s episode of the Oprah Winfrey show, saying that Lambert is fearless, unique and “he’s got swagger.”
Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on the UK equivalent of American Idol –Britain’s Got Talent. Boyle told Winfrey she’s “loving every second” of her newfound celebrity. The 47-year-old spinster became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her remarkable rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical “Les Miserables.”
Cowell is a judge on Britain’s Got Talent as well as American Idol and also has his fingers in the financial pie of the winners of both competitions. He wished both Lambert and Boyle good luck.

Why is the post supporting Adam any less sporting than the post supporting Kris?
Anyway, I don’t think Simon did Adam any favours with saying so many times over the past week that he seems sure he is going to win.
If Dialidol is anything to go by, the voting last night was very close (quite ridiculous in my opinion) and any of them could go home.
I hope Kris goes though.

sure Gokey and Allen are pretty good, but Lambert…whole other level. in my opinion, no one on Idol, any season, can even come close to Adam vocally. and vocals aside, this kid is a born showman. he’s edgy, takes risks, and deserves to win. he has no rivals.

If I must state my opinion…I don’t really think Adam is “Idol” material. I wouldn’t want him being my children’s idol. Yes, the guy has a heck of a voice, but he sounds the SAME every single time….for example his screaming…so needs to go! There’s enough weirdos in the music world. I don’t think I could buy his album at all!!! However, he does know how to work the stage.
I really hope Kris pulls it off…he has my votes all the way, but most of you know the judges wants Adam to win…and have been rootin for Adam since day 1. I don’t think that’s right.
I will vote for Kris until the end, but if the finals happen to be between Danny or Adam….Danny has my vote all the way. How great it would be if America would send Adam HOME…and let him go on and do his Broadway shows…he has it made regardless!

No sense watching idol any longer, Simon and the other judges have already picked Adam to win. The only reason Danny was voted off this week was due to being the only competition for Adam. Chris is very good, but not the personality of Adam. Sad that a signing competition is not based on vocals. Danny should be the winner - hands down.

Jill, I am sad about your statement about your “kids” not having Adam as their idol. You know nothing about the character of any of the contestants nor much about the type of people who play sports, are in entertainment etc…As for the “screaming”, maybe you haven’t noticed but screamers don’t make it that far. Adam sings purely in a high register - he does not scream (see Gokey on Aerosmith song for what a scream sounds like). Adam has proven with Mad World and several other ballads like Track of our tears he can do both hard rock and soft rock. Adam is being true to himself, has tremendous talent and has inspired many to root for him. That’s Idol material to me. You should be more open minded - and mediocrity is not admirable.

And for those who think an entertainer is “weird” refer to Elvis Presley, Prince, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Elton John, too many to name - but usually some of the most successful artist are creative in all aspects of their lives. Maybe you admire the rat Pack because they wore suits. Now there is a group of people with no character. Before you attack character, get some yourself - and quit judging people. It is a singing competition, and Adam deserves to win.
