Hey, remember when Pearl Jam released that album, Ten?

Congratulations, you’re officially old.

That’s right, Pearl Jam is giving fans a great big kick in the junk this week by reminding everyone how old they are. The group is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its breakthrough album, Ten.

(They’re calling it the 20th anniversary, but it’s really only 18. They’re musicians, so we don’t expect them to be very good at math.)

That’s right, Ten was released in 1991, effectively joining forces with Nirvana and their grungy brethren to destroy heavy metal (hey, Metallica, what’s up?), reinvent modern rock music and spawn an endless stream of imitators, some tolerable (Stone Temple Pilots, we guess) and some beyond horrible (Nickelback, anyone?).

So how is the band celebrating this momentous occasion?

By cashing-in and selling four different reissues of the album, of course. (Um, greedy much?)

Set to sell for between $14-$125, here’s what you get with each of the new sets (on-sale 3/24):3111">

Apparently, the band thinks that the new repackaging of Ten is a gift to fans.

However, we think that if this band of multi-millionaires really wanted to give fans a gift, the boys would give the albums away on their website.

Will you shell out $125 for this reissue?

Why are you being so rude?? What in this world is free? I was 12 when Ten came out and I have been a devote fan ever since, loving everything they have done since 1991. Nothing they have done has ever offended me. How could they, they work endlessly on multiple charity projects. They are one of the only bands left whose concert tickets are still at a reasonable price. They fought tirelessly against Ticket-master and only gave in because they knew if they didn’t their fans would suffer. They boycotted MTV and they are still one of the most influential, well respected bands of our time. How many bands from that era have actually lasted? The REAL fans are grateful for them re-releasing Ten, and adding such wonderful bonuses.
Check out other bands box-sets, they start in the $200 range. There is absolutely no need for you to be so rude. You are a reporter; reporters are supposed to be unbiased. SAME ON YOU.
