A look at the worst and funniest hip hop movies.

Just as rock stars often think that their musical success should translate into an acting career, so too do many hip hop stars venture to the silver screen.

Sometimes you get “Hustle and Flow” but usually you just end up with “Cool as Ice.”

Join us as we look back at some of the worst movies made by rappers. Watch some of the trailers—if you dare!

Vanilla IceCool as Ice
Vanilla Ice expanded his empire of frosty blond hair and sequined jackets into tacky motorcycle fashions and awkward love scenes with his movie “Cool as Ice.” Check out the movie’s odd love story musical montage of motocycles, beaches and ponies here.
Terrible Tagline: When a girl has a heart of stone, there’s only one way to melt it: Just add Ice.

MC Hammer—The Right Connections
If you ever thought to yourself, “Man, I really wish MC Hammer would team up with that chick from ‘Sabrina: The Teenage Witch’ and make an inspirational kiddie movie about a group of scrappy white kids who decide to raise money for their tax-troubled mom by entering a hip-hop contest—a contest that Hammer will coach them to win,” you’re an idiot whose prayers have been answered. Next time, be more careful about what you wish for.
Terrible Tagline: He’s got the moves, and they’ve got the grooves.

Snoop DoggSoul Plane
Seriously, Snoop? We expected better from you, Method Man and Tom Arnold.
Well, not really. Endure the trailer, here.
Terrible Tagline: What goes up, must get down.

50 Cent—Get Rich or Die Tryin’
50 Cent is a one-man-empire. His mic skills are as intimidating as his physique. Unfortunately, those skills didn’t exactly shine in his forgettable biopic, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” Maybe he should stick with music—or make a musical! He’d make a swell Lion King. His upcoming film with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino could improve his resume.
Download songs from the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ soundtrack here.
Terrible Tagline: If you think you know the story, you don’t know the man.

Kid’n Play—House Party 1-4
This fun-loving duo were appealing because of their goofy attitudes and mindlessly entertaining songs. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn’t know when to stop beating a dead horse, as evidenced by the fact that the duo’s successful House Party movie spawned 3 sequels and a Saturday morning cartoon series. Kid N’ Play aren’t even in House Party 4.
Terrible Tagline: House Party 3: This bachelor party’s gonna bring down the house.

Shaq—Kazaam
Sure, Shaq is known as an annoying basketball player, but he’s also a rapper/actor. This movie somehow combines basketball, bad acting, worse rapping and genies. Yeah, it’s as bad as it sounds.
Watch a rappin’ clip here. It’s dubbed in Spanish—which, somehow, makes it even funnier.
Terrible Tagline: He’s rappin’ genie with-an-attitude…and he’s ready for slam-dunk fun.
