Rick Springfield is set to bare his butt in an upcoming episode of the cable TV Show “Californication,” according to an Associated Press report.
“It’s not full-frontal, but it’s pretty much full on,” the 60-year-old musician-actor was quoted as saying. “As long as it’s for the part, I’m cool with it. And it’s funny. It’s not done to be particularly sexy.”
Springfield will appear as a guest star on four episodes of the Showtime series, with his first episode airing tomorrow. He plays a has-been movie star who wants to resurrect his career. The name of the character he plays is also Rick Springfield and according to the ’80s star is a “very twisted, warped version” of himself.
Springfield’s last big acting gig was on the soap opera “General Hospital” in the early ’80s, when his hit song “Jessie’s Girl” was ubiquitous on the radio. He said what drew him back into acting was “great writing” on the cable show.
Look for a party scene featuring show stars David Duchovny and Evan Handler.
