Adam Lambert Wins Idol Judges w/ Awful DioGuardi Song, “No Boundaries” lyrics

Ok, so if you were lucky enough to have missed last night’s episode of American Idol, you didn’t get to see the debut of American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi’s new song, “No Boundaries.”

DioGuardi co-wrote the anthemic number that is being used as the winner’s theme song for this year’s Idol competition. Last night the top two finalists both sang the song, in some sort of final showdown.

However, even more striking that the predictably predictable performances by Kris Allen and Adam Lambert was the actual song itself. It is a nightmare.

“No Boundaries” is filled with clichés and self-help sentiments so trite, they make Miley Cyrus’s teen self-esteem ballad “The Climb” sound deep by comparison (um, that is not a compliment).

Of course, DioGuardi and the rest of the judges couldn’t say enough nice things about the over-the-top song. Self-congratulatory? Yup.

Here’s a taste of DioGuardi’s handiwork via some of the cheesiest lyrics this side of an Aerosmith power-ballad.

If nothing else, DioGuardi’s nauseating ballad shows us exactly what Idol is looking for: bland cliches. Rhyming “pain” with “hurricane”? Fantastic. It sounds like a greeting card, and should wind up in the garbage just as quickly.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what professional songwriting looks like, enjoy.

“No Boundaries,” co-written by American Idol judge, Kara DioGuardi
 (excerpt)
With every step you climb another mountain
With every breath it’s harder to believe
Make it through the pain
Weather the hurricane
To get to that one thing
Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand
And show you that you can

You can go higher
You can go deeper
There are no boundaries

You break every rule
Because there’s nothing between you and your dreams…

Worst piece of garbage ever! It was so unfair these 2 guys had to sing this piece of crap. What is DioGuardi thinking? This sounds like it was written by a 12 year old. Couldn’t Simon Fuller have told her to come up with something better than that? Or find someone who could. She should be fired. She added nothing to the show except time each week when it ran over.

Kara’s song was fine. And it was performed wonderfully…

I am not a professional in this line of business; however, as an avid American Idol, AmIdol, follower, it was obvious that Adam “out-classed the entire field” with 10 weeks ago..

AmIdol’s, task for weeks was to make it seem that there was actually competition for Adam, in the face that there was no competition.

Kris is a nice young man, who will make a great lounge singer in years ahead; where Adam will likely become a new male ICON in the singing industry; in our minds he is probably the very best Male Vocalist in all 8 seasons of AmIdol. Adam is truly, and already a international Star, and will FILL concerts all over the planet.

If this is really a singing competition, not simply (only) a “popularity” contest… Adam is a clear winner… in a few hours we will know…

AND, in any event, Adam will have a terrific career, and Kris will likely have the same fate of the “harmonica guy” (Taylor Hicks) several several years ago… nice guy, but not a pop-star…

I thought that the song had a nice meaning, and a nice idea, i think that it really could have done something, I kind of liked it, but making them both sing it, that wasn’t to well, I think that in the finals YOU SHOULD WRITE A SONG THAT HAS THE CAPABILITY TO BE A SONG THAT PEOPLE WANT, WANT TO BUY ON I TUNES, anyway, ya

Having the singers write their own songs for the finals would be a very cool idea!!!!

quote “music vixen” “Of course, DioGuardi and the rest of the judges couldn’t say enough nice things about the over-the-top song. Self-congratulatory? Yup.”

Does being a “music vixen” mean you get to lie just to bash Adam Lambert some more?

Simon Cowell certainly made it quite clear he hated the song even to the extent DioGuardi had to say “yeah Simon I know”…..

What do you have to say for your music prowess, now, upon learning that Adam Lambert is in high demand even with RedOne stating he called AI before season’s end REQUESTING to work with The Gifted Adam Lambert?

    pathetic bloggers.

Not to mention NB has to be dropped from the AI tour because the WINNER can’t sing it anymore (correctly or even incorrectly). As IF Adam Lambert couldn’t make that pos song work like he did all the other wierd songs he killed on during the season.
