America’s Got Talent: 2009 Winner, a Loser? Susan Boyle vs Rolling Stones

ABOVE: Seriously, do you trust this man to select the most talented person in America?

With American Idol on break until the new season gets under way, how in the world are people supposed to know who America’s most talented undiscovered stars are?

Don’t worry, you don’t need to make your own decisions—TV has all the answers!

Wednesday night America’s Got Talent crowned a new million dollar winner.

Unfortunately, now that we’ve seen the winning performance (below), we think this might be the lamest show ever—Special guest star Susan “Makeover” Boyle’s snooze-tacular version of “Wild Horses” didn’t help matters. We think Paul McCartney put her up to this…

(BELOW: Watch Susan Boyle’s performance of the Rolling Stones ballad “Wild Horses.”)

Honestly, we’re not sure we trust the opinions of this show’s judges any  more than we trusted the loopy ramblings of Paula Abdul.

The judges:

David Hasselhoff: The washed up ’80s car whisperer recently known for his drunken tryst…with a hamburger.

Sharon Osbourne: She has been married to Ozzy “Prince of Darkness & Pizza Hut commercials” Osbourne for 27 years. Obviously, her judgment is questionable.

Piers Morgan: Apparently, all talent shows are required to employ a sassy British guy. On the plus side, he has a slightly better haircut than Simon Cowell.

Hosted by Nick “Yeah, I’m still married to Mariah Carey” Cannon.

Yesterday, this crack team of talent scouts announced the winner of America’s Got Talent 2009: Kevin Skinner. This ex-chicken catcher’s singing skills earned him top prize in the contest: $1million. Frankly, we could’ve lived without a country version of an Aerosmith song, but that’s just us…

Has anyone from this show actually gone on to release a popular song or album though? Enjoy it while it lasts, Kev.

BELOW: Watch Skinner’s winning performance  and tell us: Do you agree with the judges’ decision.

BELOW: In case you missed it, internet sensation Susan Boyle’s performance of “Wild Horses” is creating a buzz online, for some reason

NO, the show was not fixed. It’s simple math. The way they set up the voting was very retarded. What happened is that many of the votes went to the 3rd thru 10th place contestants. If those who DID NOT vote for Skinner or Padilla had known that their vote was going to be a wasted vote, and were given the choice between Skinner or Padilla, Padilla would have surly one, no doubt about it! The way to prevent this unfair outcome is by eliminating one contestant at a time, down to a final two. The second best thing they could have done would have been to conduct one more vote once they got down to the last two contestants. If they would have done this, again, Padilla would have won.

Well, duh… Barbara Padilla should have totally won this. However, I do think Recycled Percussion was more Vegas worthy. Barbara will get a contract from Simon, no doubt and she may tour with Il Divo, so she is on her way without this win. Skinner won on his story (not that it was better than Barbara’s). I wish they would keep the judging to the judges and not the public because we are so influenced by a sob story versus the real reason for choosing a winner. And please, if a show exec reads this, dump the Hoff. The ony thing he adds is stupidity. He is the Paula of AGT.
Good luck Kevin. Go get ‘em Barbara.

Actually, public voting would work fine. It just has to be implemented correctly as I wrote in my first post. Again, all of Barbara’s potential votes went to the other 8 contestants.

OMG Skinner can’t sing. Can you imagine those poor people who will be going to his show in Vegas!!!!Probably old deaf people will not complain. Hey there is only one guy who came out of that show that succeeded. Terry Fator is fantstic! Vegas embrassed him and he has his own theatre.
