ABOVE: Amy Winehouse caught on tape hitting fans while singing at Glastonbury 2008. This is not the incident for which she was in court this week. (Apparently, she hits a lot of people…)

A British judge yesterday acquitted Amy Winehouse on charges of assaulting a fan who was trying to take her picture, according to an Associated Press report.

London District Judge Timothy Workman found the 25-year-old singer not guilty of punching dancer Sherene Flash in the eye after the fan asked to take her photo following a charity event in September.

Prosecutors had alleged that Winehouse deliberately socked Flash in the face, but Winehouse claimed she had felt intimidated when Flash “lunged at me and put her arm around me,” and had only meant to push the other woman’s arm away. The singer also argued that she was too short to reach Flash’s face.

The judge said that after hearing the evidence, he could not be certain the blow had been deliberate. “The charge is dismissed and the defendant discharged,” he concluded.

Winehouse shot to fame with the 2006 album, Back to Black, but her music has since been overshadowed by run-ins with the law, allegations of drug abuse and marital woes.

Last week, Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil were granted a divorce.

It's surprising that none of the paparazzi caught this "fight" on tape. Oh well. Maybe Winehouse will get her act together now that she's getting divorced.
