When Kanye West ran on stage at the VMAs, took the microphone from a stunned Taylor Swift and proceeded to declare that the teen country star should’ve lost to Beyonce, everyone was talking about it.
Everyone except Beyonce, that is.

Now, the 28-year-old star is breaking her silence on the incident. MTV News reports that Knowles revealed that she “knew [Kanye's] intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award.’”
Of course, when Knowles’s “Single Ladies” lost the Best Female Video award to country singer Swift’s “You Belong with Me,” West was oddly outraged and invaded the stage. (video)

Seriously, this was an award for a music video—for a video the singers didn’t direct, for songs they probably didn’t write. Doesn’t really seem worth getting upset over, now does it?
West has apologized for the incident, but he may be starting to feel financial repercussions from his exceedingly unappealing behavior as his high profile Fame Kills tour with Lady Gaga was suddenly canceled late last week.
One can only imagine what sort of trouble this guy is going to get himself into next.

“Standing up for art”? Shouldn’t Swift’s music be considered art as well? By her defending him & saying that, she’s basically saying that her music should be considered as better than Swift’s & that in comparison, Swift’s music isn’t art & doesn’t deserve the same consideration.
Besides, she didn’t look that horrified at the VMAs. She looked more like she was smiling & rather enjoying what was going on. Then she got to cover up her enjoyment by offering Swift a chance to speak when she got her award. Like that will ever replace the moment Kanye stole when he ruined Swift’s very first VMA award.
So this sends out a message. As long as you are defending “art” (aka, Beyonce’s music), you can go out & act a fool. You can storm the stage & say that the winner didn’t deserve the award. To heck with manners & voicing your opinions on the proper forum & time. Go ahead & ruin that moment for the other person. After all, Beyonce will defend you afterwards, giving you her permission.

I mean seriously… why didn’t he just do this after Swift had given her speech? Or just before the awards were announced. Then Kanye would’ve looked like an eccentric artist rather than a jerk & he would’ve gotten just as much attention.
Unless of course the attention is what he really wanted- Let’s face it… unless he’s getting “wrong” attention, Kanye’s not getting noticed at all.
