5. “Love Me Tender”—Elvis
He was famous for his rock’n’roll hips, but the King was a country boy at heart.

4. “Tennessee Waltz”—Les Paul and Mary Ford
This guitar playing duo revolutionized modern recording and electric guitar playing (now in his 70s, Les just unveiled a new Gibson Les Paul robot guitar). And with this song, they added a little country heartache to their repertoire.

3. “Hello Walls”—Faron Young
An overlooked legend of country music, Faron Young’s classic country ballad finds him wandering through his house and wondering if it’s as lonesome as he is since his girl left.

2. “Ring of Fire”—Johnny Cash
With an opening line like, “Love is a burning thing,” you know you’re in for something good from the Man in Black.

Patsy Cline in Concert, 1961

1. “Crazy”—Patsy Cline

Written by a young Willie Nelson, this is a classic love song whether you like country music or not. We’ve all had broken hearts, but nobody sings it better than Patsy.
