With flower pots on their heads and yellow jump suits, the Akron, Ohio robot-like band had a steady cult following in the late 1970’s. With a syncopated delivery they struck gold in 1980 with the quirky “Whip It.” Mark Mothersbaugh the leader and synthesizer guru has gone on to score dozens of TV and Movie soundtracks including music for the Rugrats and Pee Wee’s Playhouse.
