Even veteran entertainers get the jitters when it comes to opening night on Broadway, Dolly Parton recently told Billboard.com as she prepares to bring the musical “9 to 5″ to the Great White Way.

“I’m anxious about it,” the country music legend told Billboard.com. “I’ve been working on this for four years, and the thing about Broadway is you could work four years and close the next night — or never open at all. Everything’s a chance.”

Parton co-starred in the 1980 film of the same name and wrote the score for the Broadway production — including the new song “Backwoods Barbie,” which is also the title of her latest album. Co-screenwriter Patricia Resnick wrote the book.

“9 to 5″ begins previews on April 7 at the Marquis Theater in New York City after a fall workshop run in Los Angeles, with the formal premiere slated for April 30.
