After being snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which declared the band was less rockin’ than ABBA and Genesis, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are facing more trouble, this time from within the band.Wednesday, guitarist John Frusciante confirmed that he has left the band.

After months of silence on the matter, Frusciante took to his blog to inform fans of his departure, noting that, “There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and that goes both ways.”

Proving once again that rock’n'roll is a dead scene these days, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its latest round of inductees—because nothing says rock rebellion like joining the self-congratulatory ranks of this irrelevant club.

Although this year’s list of induction nominees included legitimate rockers such as the Stooges and KISS, it was also marred by some decided un-rock groups like ABBA, Donna Summer and LL Cool J.

Guess which ones made the cut? (Hint: Mostly, the wrong ones…)

Q: Where’s the last place you’d want to go if you were just injured a serious bus accident?

    A. A cross-country bus trip from NY to Los Angeles seems like a good guess.

Unfortunately for Weezer leader Rivers Cuomo, that seems to be just what doctors have ordered for him following last week’s tour bus crash which injured the rock musician, his wife & daughter, nanny and personal assistant.

Due to the extent of Cuomo’s injuries, notably a punctured lung, doctors have advised him against air travel because of the dangers posed by the air pressure changes onboard.

Since cross-country train travel isn’t as convenient as it used to be, so it sounds like Cuomo’s best bet is to hit the highway to head home to California.

So, what does a wild rock star do for fun on a long bus ride? Find out, here.

    Stray Cat Hits Hospital
Rockabilly revivalist-turned-Christmas crooner Brian Setzer, 50, was rushed to a hospital after performing just three songs during a holiday concert in New Mexico on Monday, the Albuquerque Journal Online and AP report.

“Brian was briefly hospitalized in Albuquerque, NM last night after a combination of dehydration, high altitude, and vertigo made him unable to continue his performance at the Isleta Casino after several songs,” according to the statement released December 15 via Setzer’s official website.

“Brian has completely recovered and will perform tonight at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, AZ, and will continue with the remainder of the tour uninterrupted.”

Setzer rose to fame as the leader of the Stray Cats, a New York rockabilly/pop act trading in slick riffs and affable revivalism. The group is best known for its eponymous hit “Stray Cat Strut.”

In the ’90s, Setzer launched a successful career touring with his own 17-piece big band, the Brian Setzer Orchestra, performing swing-themed hits and staging elaborate Christmas-themed tours.
