Amy Winehouse’s husband has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 2006 fistfight in a London pub, according to a report on Reuters.
The 26 year old Blake Fielder-Civil admitted “committing grievous bodily harm on a pub landlord and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.” The guilty plea was reported today after a London judge eased restrictions on media covering the case.
Since marrying in Miami in May 2007, Winehouse and Fielder-Civil have been the constant target of British paparazzi covering the North London celebrity couple’s very public, often drug-related meltdowns.
Fielder-Civil, a one-time music video assistant, has spent much of his first year of marriage in jail, having been held in custody before the start of his trial which had been due to begin this month prior to his guilty pleas. Soul superstar Winehouse, who has also been in trouble with the law, had been attending all of her husband’s pretrial proceedings.
