Is Duran Duran the Worst Band of the 80s?

November 13th, 2007 by Karen

Surprisingly enough, the answer seems to be: No.

Led by singer Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran found mega-fame in the 80s with songs such as “Rio,” “Hungry Like the Wolf”  and “Girls on Film.”

It’s been a while since they’ve had a hit single, but these 80s relics seem to be inescapable lately. The British group is gaining attention for its new album, Red Carpet Massacre, along with a video for the song “Falling Down” that’s so controversial it has already been banned by U.K. television.

This week, the group also had to cancel part of its 10 day concert series on Broadway due to a strike by stagehands.

So, with their career still doing well, maybe Duran Duran isn’t the most obnoxious band of the 80s afterall. But let’s find out who is!
