In front of a stadium full of Yankees fans and players, Mr. Beyonce Knowles unleashed lines like “I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”

ArtsBeat notes that representing for Philadelphia was John Legend, who was schooled in the city. Opting for a less team-spirit minded track than Jay-Z, the r&b crooner performed the national anthem.

On a related note, it looks like Jay-Z might have his eye on a collaboration with Liam Gallagher (his band, Oasis broke up recently).
