Jay Leno’s new prime-time series is going to kick off with a musical bang, featuring performances by Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West, according to an Associated Press report.
NBC announced that the three singers will perform together on “Run This Town,” a tune from Jay-Z’s new album, on the September 14 debut of “The Jay Leno Show.”
Both Leno and the network have said that the new show will feature fewer musical acts, and emphasize interesting combinations of performers.
Leno departed as “Tonight” host in May. He said that he’ll expect guests on his new show to do more than just talk - they’ll have to do goofy things like race electric cars on a track being built near his NBC studio in Burbank. The series will air weekdays at 10 p.m. EDT.

Jay Leno is only sort of tolerable if you're half-asleep. Are people really going to watch this junk in primetime when they're wide awake? I don't think so!
