Though Kelly Rowland’s second solo album, “My Story: Kelly Rowland,” was set to be released in July, her manager and gal-pal Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, has pushed things back until the first quarter in 2007.

With lots of hot records dropping this summer, Knowles wants to make sure that they’re putting their best foot forward ““ Rowland is like a second daughter to him and clearly he wants to do what’s best, and, if more time is needed then more time is what they’ll get.

Despite the fact that the record has been pushed back, fans may be dismayed to discover that this doesn’t mean more songs will be added ““ in fact, it’s likely that new songs won’t be added as the people who’ve worked on the record have expressed that everyone’s quite happy with “My Story: Kelly Rowland” as it stands. The primary reason to push back the release was more of a marketing strategy than anything else.

MusicVixen says...

Stop smothering the kid "“ just because Beyonce's blossomed into Jay-Z's girl and Solange is married doesn't mean you have to try and protect Kelly's innocence by stifling her career. Release the record.
