While it’s true that we’ve wished death on the Dave Matthews Band of hippies for over a decade—we meant it in a metaphorical sense. Today, we’re sad to report that DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore has died at age 46 as a result of injuries sustained during an ATV accident in June.
Moore passed away Tuesday at a Hollywood hospital and, according to an AP report, Dave Matthews played that evening’s concert as scheduled and dedicated it to Moore. There is yet to be official word on whether the band will continue without Moore, a key member.

LeRoi Moore was an amazing sax player, a key member of the band for sure. However, DMB must go on, it’s what the fans want, and i’m pretty sure it’s what LeRoi would want (even though I do not know him). It will be hard to replace such a good musician, but it must be done.
