Details of Michael Jackson’s funeral and burial are still being confirmed at this time, but CNN reports that Jackson’s body will likely be returned to the embattled Neverland Ranch for a public memorial service, which may in time become a permanent monument to the star, like Graceland is for Elvis.
Tentative plans are being discussed for a public showing of Jackson’s body at the estate in the coming days, although the details are uncertain, at best.
On a creepier note, CNN and Yahoo! report that Jackson’s family wants his body to be driven through the streets of Los Angeles and taken to the funeral service in a glass-sided horse-drawn carriage, complete with a matching glass coffin.
A public memorial would be acceptable, but isn’t this a little ghoulish?
Do fans really want to see Jackson’s dead body on display?

I’m sorry but this is going to far,He never had a normal life, never had any privacy, and now this. For God sakes lay your child to rest, and give him the peace he finally deserves. And try to do it with a little class and dignity. this is the time for family and friends to come together to console one another, stop turning it in to a three ring circus, I really do not think thats what he would have wanted.

Michael Jackson was one of a kind and, like Elvis, deserves to have his fans to express their love and respect. However, I do find charging to attend his funeral apauling! He crossed all lines and reached the rich and poor alike. I understand that funeral plans for such a great artist can be complicated, but did anyone think about how much money could be brought to the doomed State of California if they could work out a venue? There will be enough money to be made in the future!

First of all, to “James”: A death is a time to remember all the good and respect the dead. I don’t appreciate your comment. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that! Didn’t your mother ever teach you, “if you do not have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!”??
And to Patricia: I agree with you. I really feel saddened by all this. I am just as curious as the next guy but to display his dead body sounds like it is going too far. I am glued to the TV and there are so much gossip and rumours, it’s hard to know the truth. I feel MJ was a talented, genuine, caring person who did not ever know what it was like to be “normal”. This was not his fault. Fame comes with a price. Prayers to the family. I’m sure they are getting pressure from every angle and I pray they find peace and comfort through all this.

i believe that the family is trying not to have his fans involved with his funeral procession.my grievence goes out to the family of Michael Jackson buti believe that by the time tuesday come for the staple center memorial services for Michael Jackson.he will be burried and that his fans that loves him dearly will miss everything like the funeral services but are able to attend the celebration of his life at the staple center. why are they keeping his funeral procession from his fans that loves him so we want to see and pay our respects to the man that we all love so much Michael Jackson.R.I.P Michael even if we that are not near you don’t get that priviledge to be a part of your funeral procession you will never be forgotten not ever GONE TOO SOON

You are living proof of which the bible states,” because of lawlessness, the love of many will wax cold.” This man led a life before the eyes of this world. Imagine the type of pressure he was under. Always having to maintain the same type of intense music and title”,The King of Pop.” As far as what I think, this is their one last chance of using MJ to put on a show! Michael always lived a life that didn’t meet up with what he deserved. He is a beautiful man, inside and out, and he constantly tried to help those in need. He didn’t receive all the he wanted, even though they were the simplest of wants. He grew up being constantly tortured by his father when he was younger and had a scarred childhood. He did all he could to give kids the best the could since he was given far from it. And what does the media do? They accuse of him false charges and come up with cruel nicknames for him. They pressure him and thanks to them his health deteriorated and he became unhappy, which lead to the drugs (pills) addiction which in the end, killed him. So, that’s pretty much saying that the pressure of the media killed this poor man and made him go through many horrifying times in his life. No matter what he tried, they just wouldn’t leave him alone and LET HIM BE. I think it’s amazing that the family is having this huge funeral for him but when it comes to his body being “paraded” around town in a glass coffin? Well, i believe that’s too far. Yes, Michael loved his fans dearly. Probably loved his fans more than any other musician loved their fans. But he was also a man who wanted privacy and Michael’s last chance of having privacy is being stripped away from him. He’s DEAD. He’s finally in peace and yet his family wants to show case his body throughout the town? That’s too far. That’s not called privacy. No, that’s called PUBLICITY. And Michael wasn’t a big fan of that. And I doubt he’d be a big fan of this. I sometimes wonder: does anyone in Michael’s family TRULY know him and what HE wants (or care, for that matter)? I know Janet, Germaine, and his mother do, but who else? Cause it seems like the rest don’t know him at all or care. Also, i think Michael should be buried in an Islamic way seeing as he is a Muslim. This is something Germaine, who’s also Muslim, would want. But of course, the Jackson family doesn’t follow Michael’s wishes, right? I’m just glad that Michael is finally in PEACE. Thats why people in the world cant change now because of ignorance!This is not a time for sick comments its a time for mourning. Despite what people said about him the crowd for the funeral and memorials said different.I think Its time to let Mike rest now. He worked all his life. When you are a star you are expected to live a certain way for the public like the are not human and dont make mistakes. Michael did so much for kids that others got jealous and accused him of sleeping with children. Michael, was a gentle giant, with a heart of gold. I have never believed that he molested those two boys. I feel that they were devious little toe rags, that needed a good slap. They were being led by there parent’s inorder to get rich quick. If you have ever been attacked in a sexual manner, not by my father but by a man I had known as a friend for eight years, you would understand that, one you would not go into hiding after giving evidence, if you were telling the truth, & also in the other case if you had supposidly caught a grown man with your son in his bed, that you would not of given the man a good hiding there and then, because the shock would of made me do it. The father in question allowed the friendship to carry on, would you? However, I feel that he should have the best send of money can buy, so what ever they decide is fine by me. I just wish they would make it easier, for us to find out, so we who loved him can do our own little things to commemerate him. I tried to get Jermaine Jacksons email address but they want to much money, simply to ask where and when. As I am making and sending my own very special flower tribute. Nothing but the best for Michael. And I will always defend him, everyone to their own oppinion, but if you think about it he is innocent. There were loads of holes in what the boy was saying at the trial. I followed what was being said from the news channels, very carefully. I do not wish to offend anyone, but Michael isn’t here to defend himself, so I am doing it for him.

If youre going to make money off of him in a glass coffin………..use that money to help kids. If you were to bury him in Neverland…I would say the money should be used to help unfortuanate kids. He probobly was more of a cremation type guy but I dont think that he would mind being burried in Neverland or being preserved to gloat at if the money was used to help children everywhere. I will sure miss him. Feels like part of my childhood, youth and middle age were pulled out from under me………….RIP MJ
