It’s Monday again, so that means we’re dusting off another one of our favorite music videos to help you beat those Monday morning blahs.
Check out the clues, and see if you can guess what today’s video is, then tune in below and enjoy.
Today’s pick features:
1. A missing-person mystery.
2. Dancing food.
3. A gorilla guitarist.
Do you know what this odd-ball video is?
More info on the video, the band and upcoming tour dates , after the jump.
Famous foes of Oasis during the battle for Brit-pop kingdom in the ’90s, Blur’s sad/happy video for “Coffee & TV” was a hit among fans thanks in no small part to the clip’s star: A dancing milk carton out to find the missing person whose photo is printed on his side. The missing man turns out to be Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.
Blur singer Damon Albarn takes a backseat on “Coffee & TV,” strumming a guitar and handing vocal duties over to Coxon. Albarn must’ve enjoyed the animated clip, as during Blur’s hiatus (breakup?), the singer went on to lead the troupe of cartoon music makers, Gorillaz. (There is reportedly a new Gorillaz album in the works.)
NME and Stereogum report that Blur is set to hit the concert stages this summer, with Coxon revealing that the group will play fan-favorites from Park Life, as well as tracks from Think Tank. The news surprised some fans since Coxon quit Blur during the recording sessions of Think Tank and appears on only one of the album’s songs.
Having been on extended hiatus, Blur reunited onstage at February’s NME awards, marking the band’s first performance in nearly nine years.
While plans for a full-scale world tour have not yet been announced, Blur currently has shows slated for London, Manchester, Colchester, Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Southend, as well as slots at major festivals Glastonbury, Oxygen and T in the Park.
