Adam Lambert earns his nickname, "Glambert."
Oh, Adam Lambert, what are we going to do with you?
This spotlight-stealing American Idol #2 finisher is making a splash even before his debut album hits shelves, thanks to an early preview of the artwork for his debut album, For Your Entertainment.
The album’s spacey, blue-haired cover photo is seemingly inspired by failed ’70s glam rocker Jobriath and the psychedelic ’70s U.F.O. TV series. (The only thing missing from this goofy moon age daydream is some sort of unicorn floating in the star-dusted the background.)
If this air-brushed disco nightmare artwork is any indication of the music on For Your Entertainment, things might be even worse than we’d previously imagined based on Lambert’s eardrum-piercing Idol-era rendition of “Born to Be Wild.”

Earlier this month, Lambert confirmed that he was joined in the studio by a very special collaborator: Lady Gaga.
No word on whether she had a hand in his over-the-top makeover, but we think Lady and Lambert certainly make a more fitting pair of costume shop popstars than Gaga and Kanye did, don’t you?
A certain Lambert-loving blogger is already predicting that the pastel retro artwork will scare away “closed-minded (mostly hetero male) customers who’ll be too embarrassed carry such a glamtastically Jobriathian album up to the cash register at Wal-Mart or Best Buy.”

TV's U.F.O.:The inspiration for Lambert's out-of-this-world hair and makeup?
We think this pointless stereotyping is just as bad as the alleged homophobia that prevented Lambert from taking Idol’s top prize. People are allowed to dislike this guy’s music without being homophobic.
After all, it’s just entertainment.

At least Lambert is trying to do something more interesting than the usual boring self-portrait most artists put on their album covers (might be good for Halloween, too!).
