Though Adam Lambert may not be happy about it, his old label, Hi-Fi Recordings, is totally overjoyed about featuring Lambert’s work on a soon to be released album called On With the Show, which includes 11 tracks either co-written and/or sung by the rocker, according to a report on E! online.

Lambert says that his debut album for American Idol-affiliated 19 Recordings/RCA, which he’s reportedly working on with Lady Gaga producer RedOne, will be the public’s first chance to hear what his music “really sounds like.”

But Hi-Fi maintains that On With the Show is a “fantastic representation of who Adam is and what inspired him during the months before he became famous.” In a statement, Hi-Fi further said that Lambert will receive significant royalties on the record just as “any superstar would.”

A judge’s favorite, Lambert, 27, came in runner-up on the latest season of Fox’s American Idol singing competition.

MusicVixen says...

I think Lambert is just a fame-hungry fake who will record any style of music that happens to be popular at that moment.

The above comment about Adam being “…a fame- hungry fake who will record any style of music that happens to be popular at that moment” is one of the most ridiculous comments I’ve ever heard. First off, he wouldn’t be trying to break into the pop industry if he didn’t want fame. If you don’t want it, you’re assured of going nowhere. Secondly, the only places that Adam really deviated from his own, typical “style” was when he did session singing for Wilshire records on “Want” and “On With the Show” and on American Idol, where he was required to perform to the weekly genre. Even then, he did his own thing within each genre, which is what made him so popular. The songs Adam co-wrote that are soon-to-be released by Hi-Fi (the ones I’ve heard, anyway) are of a similar electro-dance/pop-rock style and kind of a natural precursor to what he’s saying he’s now working on with RedOne and other esteemed producers and songwriters. I really don’t see how he’s changing anything up to “fit” any particular trend in music. He’s picked a general style and stuck with it. Yes, his chosen general genre of performance, pop-rock, is a popular style in music, but what do you want him to do — sing 1920’s era swing and try to get a large fan base following doing that? It’s your prerogative to dislike Adam Lambert, but to leave a negative editorial statement at the end of a news article is unprofessional — and, in this case, just completely unfounded.

MusicVixen has no idea what they are talking about. Another ignorant idiot puts their two sense in. First, the recordings were demos and not in final form, HiFi did not seek Adam’s blessing which from a PR standpoint they should have, and Adam should have been given say in how and when these should have been released. Play fair, HiFi.

Just another note — Hi-Fi is NOT Adam’s old label. His work was with Wilshire Records, a recording studio, which contacted Hi-Fi for help in making Adam’s recordings into a record. In Hi-Fi’s first press release early last week, their CEO was quoted as saying that Wilshire Records contacted them after Adam made his first appearances on American Idol.

MusicVixen, what about Elvis? Elvis is excellent across differnt music styles. And Adam is the same. You might want to google Elvis and read his bios.
“Presley had a versatile voice and had unusually wide success encompassing other genres, including gospel, blues, country, ballads and pop. To date, he has been inducted into four music halls of fame.”

However, I am not a big fan of HiFi’s release without Adam’s blessing.

I think MusicVixen should find another job as they certainly don’t recognize PURE TALENT when they see it & ADAM LAMBERT “IS” PURE TALENT even American Idol WINNER KRIS ALLEN says so!!!!

Adam has the talent to become a world wide superstar. He should stay focused on his new album and let the lawyers worry about the old collection of songs. Some people will buy it just to here his amazing voice even if it is incomplete. I am going to see him on the idol tour but can’t wait for his new album and an all Adam tour. I am sure he will rock the world.

Why are you writing on something you apparently have no knowledge on? That makes you look kind of ignorant. HIFI is taking old demo’s & trying to publish it as new music. They are planning on doing that before his debut album is released. It is deliberate misrepresentation of the album as most of that music has been available for listening to on the internet for quite a while at YouTube. If HIFI was not being fraudulent in it’s representation there probably would not have been a problem. As for your opinion, it doesn’t mean a thing because once again you have no idea what your talking about. Because people including Adam grow & change in what type of music they want to play, produce or want to listen to.

“media vixen” wtf are you even talking about. Adam Lambert is an accomplished trained vocalist having worked from the age of 10 in ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. “Popular at the moment”? Some “vixen you are” ….POPULAR such as? Cher, Ring of Fire, Play that Funky Music, Born to Be Wild and all the other goofy songs he waa able to bring to life with his personal arrangements.

POPULAR? Such as “Crawl Thru Fire” with the performance art at Zodiac?

I’m so sick of anybody with a keyboard mouthing off about things they don’t even bother to investigate with no foundation for their big nasty mouths.

I guess Adam Lambert was the SINGLE cast member of The Ten Commandments to get stellar reviews eclipsing the entire cast including Val Kilmer’s losing performance.

I guess Adam Lambert’s Brigadoon “Come to Me Bend To Me” at the age of 22 was another example of “what’s popular now”.

Loser with a keyboard who thinks she’s a “vixen”.

Adam Lambert is a brilliant vocalist. One of the best out there. He is disappointed that HiFi is capitalizing on his name. These are unfinished tracks. Here is his most recent statement.
“Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded back in 2005 were being released. Since then I discovered the entire track listing, revealed online today. I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album. Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public. I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press, and I’m very disappointed by this entire situation.”
It’s unfortunate this company is releasing this.

Wow, I love Adam Lambert. What a cheap shot Music Vixen. That man is incredibly talented what is your beef? Before going on AI he recorded those tracks and was going to submit it as a demo for a music company to try and land a contract but went on AI instead. They are not finished tracks just demos. The recording Want and On with the Show where tracks he lent his voice to and nothing more. I hate when people take cheap shots like that.

Collaborating with Lady Gaga (well, only with her producer for now, though in Rolling Stone he said he wants to work with her, too–ed.)?
      Ick.

MusicVixen: Adam Lambert is the least “fake” singer/performer/artist I’ve come across in a long while. He has the ability to perform in almost any genre popular at the moment or not. There are a huge number of people (me included) who are in awe of his voice and style and love to hear him sing almost anything. Of course, music is subjective and you can buy “that other guy’s record.”

It seems clear to me that Hi Fi is far more fame-hungry - one minute they want to support Adam (and his music) and the next they are dissing him (and his label) - they are releasing music that Adam does not consider ready or representative of his current direction. I will not support Hi Fi in any way.

Use all your negative energy and fix your face and hair so you CAN post a REAL picture of yourself, but I understand FAKE loves FAKE! You can’t handle Adam, he’s too REAL!

I really don’t see how anyone can call Adam fake! When has he been fake? He’s been open about personal matters (even when he chose not to literally state the obvious, he went about life as usual and didn’t shy away from the media’s cameras) and he’s consistently stated his musical intentions. Also, a note to Karen: At this point, Adam is NOT collaborating with Lady Gaga. He’s simply doing work with her producer, RedOne. Adam has said that he admires her work, but he’ll have his own, unique style. Lady GaGa is just one of many, diverse entertainers with whom RedOne has worked. It is, of course, your prerogative to dislike particular artists, but I believe it’s important to avoid making sweeping statements about a person’s character just because they are not our own, personal taste.

    Karen,

Your logic totally alludes me. How is one muscian more sincere over another. Michael Jackson loved to put on performances. He enjoyed dressing in costume and putting on a show as does Madonna. So, I gather they are not sincere? They are just pretending to be singers. They are just acting like singers. Your statement makes so sense whatsoever. How do you act like a singer? You are one or you are not one. It is such a lame argument that you should pack up your keboard and go home.
I gather someone is more sincere if they dress up in jeans and a t-shirt for every performance, plant themselves in the middle of the stage and put the audience to sleep? If you put on a show complete with set and costume then you are insincere? You are being illogical.

Another load of garbage. If someone likes to “perform” than they are acting. I guess Adam is “pretending” to be a singer. He is really an actor playing the role of a singer. That’s the biggest load of garbage I’ve ever heard. I guess if someone is “theatrical” (which I’ve found is code word for gay) than they are not sincere. Like one of the posters above said Michael Jackson, Madonna and let’s add David Bowie are all posers. They weren’t “sincere”. Maybe, Karen you ought to really examine your thought process.

    Yes, Karen,

Working with lady Gaga’s producer not Lady Gaga. Careful of your wording. In one of your comments you said he was working with Lady GaGa which he is not. Lady GaGa happens to be a hot commodity too. Let me guess she is also a gifter actor. So everyone who puts on a performance is a gifter actor. Those who just stand there and open their mouths are singers and are sincere. You lose all credibility when you make snarky comments like you did at the end of your article. Especially comments that are more personal than factual. When someone attacks another for no apparent reason people will question your motives and wonder why.

This was widely reported by many sources, including Rolling Stone.
