A new Michael Jackson song, “This Is It,” will be released as a single on October 12 on Sony, according to a Reuters report
The tune is part of two-disc collection inspired by the upcoming limited release movie, “This Is It,” which captures Jackson as he prepares and rehearses for his run of comeback concerts scheduled to take place in London. It features backing vocals by Jackson’s brothers, according to Reuters.
Two versions of the new song appear on the set’s first disc, which also features original masters of the King of Pop’s hits in the order in which they appear in the movie. The album’s second disc features previously unreleased versions of other Jackson hits, as well as a previously unheard spoken word piece, “Planet Earth.”
“This is It,” the double album, will be released worldwide on October 26, and in North America on October 27.

Hey! Remember when Disney released that Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert movie and said it would be in theaters for one weekend only--but as soon as they realized they could sell a zillion tickets, it was extended for a longer run in theaters? I have a feeling the same thing will happen with this movie. Everyone will keep trying to squeeze money from MJ's corpse as long as possible. I wonder how long it'll take Michael's family to realize they could make a lot of money if they made his kids become singers, too?
