President Obama’s candid remarks about the Kanye West/ Taylor Swift incident are keeping the story alive, according to an Associated Press report.
The president stated that West’s actions were inappropriate, but then casually said that the rapper was “a jackass” (video, below) in response to a question about why West behaved the way he did. President Obama considered the latter remark, made just prior to an interview, to be off the record. But ABC news employees who heard the comment instantly tweeted about it, spreading the remark virally until it took on a life of its own.
The president seemed to quickly realize he had gone too far, and jovially appealed to those assembled that the remark be kept private. “Come on guys,” he said. “Cut the president some slack. I’ve got a lot of other stuff on my plate.”
The president’s comment came a day after West was widely criticized for interrupting Swift as she accepted an award at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards to say that Beyonce deserved it.

Obama is awesome. Now, if there were just some way for him to deport Kanye...to the moon. Seriously though, why is someone wasting the President's time asking him about this silly NYC stuff?
