ABOVE: Pearl Jam is preparing to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ten, featuring the hit, “Even Flow.” Check out the band’s new single, “The Fixer,” below.

With a new album, Backspacer, due on September 20, Pearl Jam is trying to get fans excited about the new music–with a scavenger hunt. The prize? Exclusive new music from Pearl Jam, of course!

The Backspacer album artwork was designed by comic-strip artist Tom Tomorrow, best known for his liberal political cartoon, This Modern World.

Eddie Vedder and the boys have hidden nine panels of the Tomorrow-designed Backspacer artwork all around the internet for fans to find and collect.

Fans that collect all nine pieces can click over the Pearl Jam website and get the secret code for an exclusive free Backspacer download from the band.

In a surprising turn, this band that usually fights against big corporations, like Ticketmaster, has reportedly struck a deal to sell the album exclusively through big name retailer Target. Maybe Target is cooler than Wal-Mart, the boys have still moved a long way from their rebellious roots.

Did you look for the PJ artwork online?
Which of Pearl Jam’s nine albums is your favorite?

CONTEST DETAILS: Check the Pearl Jam page for info on how to redeem Backspacer artwork for an exclusive Pearl Jam “Speed of Sound” mp3.
