One of Britney Spears’ most popular fan sites is ditching the Britster, making it clear that even her most ardent fans have lost faith in the superstar. WorldofBritney.com recently announced that it was closing shop due to the fact that Britney had lost credibility amongst her fans.
“As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is [World of Britney],” wrote Ruben Garay, the site’s founder. “I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it’s very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going.”
Garay said that Spears’ recent episode of “crotch exposure,” had nothing to do with his decision and that he still respects Spears “as a human being.”
WorldofBritney has been a chronicler of all things Britney since 2000, according to Garay, who intends to turn the site into a celebrity blog that will compete with Perez Hilton’s site.

It's about time Spears was held accountable for her "naughty" behavior. As a person in the public eye, Spears is supposed to be a role model, but she certainly doesn't act like one.
