In a pairing we could’ve never predicted, American Idol loudmouth Simon Cowell has been making headlines this week thanks to his beef with fans of political rap-rock outfit Rage Against the Machine.
Fans of the band have reportedly launched a campaign to push the group’s 1992 song “Killing in the Name” to the top of the British music charts in time for Christmas—which means the top slot would be stolen away from Cowell’s latest pet project: Susan Boyle.
Boyle, an unlikely YouTube singing sensation lately known for her extreme makeover, won the hearts of viewers when she competed on TV’s X Factor, Cowell’s British forerunner to American Idol.
