Advance ticket sales have been brisk, but no one has any idea how big the turnout might be this week, according to the Associated Press.
Some think the chronicle of Jackson’s London concert preparations just prior to his death will surpass the $31.1 million opening weekend and the $65.3 million lifetime haul of “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert,” the biggest concert movie on record. Others say the total take could exceed $100 million.
“It reminds me of ‘Blair Witch,’ it reminds me of ‘Fahrenheit 9/11,’ it reminds me of ‘Passion of the Christ,” said one box office analyst, comparing the soon-to-be-released film to other movies that opened monumentally.
The film will have simultaneous premieres worldwide on Tuesday night, followed by advance screenings for paying customers and Wednesday’s official theatrical debut.

Wow, so it used to be a battle of MJ vs the Beatles and Elvis, but now it's more of a contest between the King of Pop and the Queen of Disney (Miley Cyrus). What a weird time for the music industry!
