The latest episode of Saturday Night Live proved that musical guest Rihanna has a fun sense of humor thanks to her duet with Shy Ronnie, a mumbling MC dweeb played by Andy Samberg.
However, many critics are attacking the show for its insensitivity—and possible sexism—due to a skit about domestic violence, a topic Rihanna is all-too-familiar with thanks to her abusive relationship with Chris Brown.

In the skit, the show’s cast pokes fun at recent events surrounding golfer Tiger Woods’ mysterious car accident and the subsequent rumors that Woods had been physically assaulted by his wife because of his cheating ways.
The skit raised a number of concerns among many viewers:
Is domestic violence ever an appropriate topic for jokes?
Was it wrong to joke about the topic in Rihanna’s presence?
Would SNL have made such jokes Tiger had been accused of hitting his wife?
Are people reading too much into this, after all, it’s just a comedy show?
