The Hip Hop community was once again shaken when law enforcement officials captured rap icon Calvin Broadus AKA Snoop Dogg. Snoop was captured by police on the 26th at around 4PM at the Bob Hope Airport in the city of Burbank, CA.
Airport police officers made the arrest while following up to a vehicle violation. When the authorities further investigated the situation, they realized more was amiss than just Snoop’s vehicle. They discovered not only marijuana, but a gun as well; Snoop was arrested based upon the charges of gun and drug possession.
Since Snoop is a celebrity, he was able to post $35,000 bail with ease, and return to the streets in no-time. However, Snoop isn’t out of this pickle just yet. He’s scheduled to appear in court sometime in early December ““ the current date listed is the 12th. Snoop’s attorney is hopeful though, as he has publicly stated that there was no basis for Snoop’s arrest and he believes that ultimately, all charges will be dismissed.
However, things may not be as rosy as Snoop’s lawyer would like to believe. The Orange Country D.A. is still in the process of considering charges against Snoop since they discovered a twenty-one inch collapsible baton in his luggage when he was attempting to a board a flight to New York.
