After passing a copy of “White Wedding” singer Billy Idol’s pointless Christmas album in the discount bin (thankfully, he’s not wearing his nightmare-ish leather underpants on the cover of the album), we started wondering what other holiday nightmares are lurking the forgotten corners of the music world. Julianne Hough from Dancing with the Stars has a holiday album, Sounds of the Season: The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection, and country superstar Faith Hill has just released Joy to the World.
Many stars release Christmas songs instead of entire albums. Still, Mariah Carey’s holiday anthem Mariah Carey All I Want for Christmas mp3 doesn’t really get us in the holiday mood the same way a few annoyingly catchy choruses of Jingle Bells mp3 do—but Mariah’s number isn’t the worst of the bunch. (Do the Pussycat Dolls have a Christmas album yet? We’re pretty sure that would be the worst idea EVER.)
However, we’re tempted to think that while faux-punk-turned-blah-crooner Billy Idol’s Christmas album might be the worst—or at least the most unnecessary holiday disc ever—the worst song might actually be this 1973 gem by acoustic folk music icon John Denver:
And today’s winner, er, loser or Worst Christmas Songs Ever is:
John Denver Please Daddy Don’t Get Drunk this Christmas (video here)
You can check out the lyrics here and sing along…or not. It’s worse than you think it is. Almost so bad that it’s funny…almost.
What is the worst Christmas Album or song ever?
We’d love to hear your suggestions—Please leave a comment and maybe your idea will make the list!

“Jingle Bell Rock.”
Hands down.
