LISTEN: Jay-Z The Blueprint 3, Official Leak. Worth the Hype?

Mr. Beyonce Knowles is finally trying to put attention back on his music rather than his love life, failed retirement bid, or shady real estate deals-but does it live up to the hype?

We haven’t had time to digest all of the Blueprint 3, but we’re hoping “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” will inspire lame-o lip-synchers (hi, Kanye) to give T-Pain the boot kick the Auto-Tune habit…but we’re not holding our breath.

Oddly, while Jay-Z takes a shot at Auto-Tunes users, he teams up with Kanye on “Run This Town” and with West’s underling Drake nonetheless.

Elsewhere on the album, a duet with singer/pianist Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind,” takes a titular cue from, of all people, Billy Joel (”New York State of Mind”).

Listen to the entire album before its 9/11 release and tell us what you think.

Now, we don’t always condone album leaks, but it this isn’t a bootleg, it’s an official leak from Jay-Z to MTV. Enjoy.

Beyonce Sucks Even if Howard Stern Tape is a Hoax

Published April 24th, 2009 by Karen

Ok, so apparently there has been some buzz going around because Howard Stern aired tape that was allegedly a recording of Beyonce’s vocals from her performance of “If I Were a Boy” on the Today show last year. The tape was supposed to prove that the “Single Ladies” singer lip synchs during her “live” performances.

The vocals on the tape are horrible, cracking and struggling in vain to stay in tune.
(Unlike Beyonce’s usual vocals, which are over-sung, over-produced and melodramatic.)

However, Beyonce fans can relax, because now it is being reported that the whole thing was a hoax and the tape was created by a blogger.

However, we have to wonder why so many people were so eager to believe this story.

Was it because people like to see stars screw up?

Or was it because many listeners are getting tired of her boring pop songs and were sort of relieved that this might finally put an end to her reign over the airwaves?

We think it’s the latter. What do you think?

Fortunately, the tape of David Lee Roth’s hilariously awful “Running with the Devil” soundboard vocals is not a hoax. If you haven’t heard it yet, go now.

Will Kanye Be Chris Brown’s Cellmate? Yeah, Maybe.

The talentless “Heartless” singer, um, lip-syncher, might be headed to jail. Kanye West has just been charged with three misdemeanors after smashing a paparazzo’s camera at LAX last September.

West will face charges of vandalism, grand theft and battery at his April 14 arraignment. His bodyguard is facing six charges related to the incident.

The case against the pair seems pretty solid: the whole incident was apparently caught on video by a TMZ cameraman.

If West is convicted, he could serve two and half years in jail. That means we won’t have to hear his big mouth for two years! Of course, he’ll probably release some awful concept album with Chris Brown when he gets released. (Maybe they can collaborate behind bars?) Continue reading »

Boycott Chris Brown. Tina Turner: Please Straighten Rihanna Out!

Published March 2nd, 2009 by Karen
Boycott Chris Browns music?

Boycott Chris Brown's music?

Ok, enough is enough!

The story of Chris Brown’s alleged Grammy-day attack on girlfriend Rihanna has been making headlines for nearly a month now. Photos of Rihanna’s gruesome injuries have made the rounds online, and so have Chris Brown’s vague, lame apologies.

Now, there are reports that the pair of horrible singers are patching up their equally disastrous relationship.

Why?!

It has only been a few weeks since this attack. If Brown really did knock this girl around the way it seems, then it’s sure going to take more than a few public relations maneuvers (i.e. anger management classes and half-hearted apologies) to fix things.

Rihanna’s friends and family need to talk some sense into her before it is too late. Maybe they won’t speak up because  they’re afraid of offending Rihanna and her bank account?

Checkout-lane rumors that the singer was pregnant with Brown’s baby at the time of the assault only make this reconciliation story more disturbing.

C’mon, Tina Turner, give this kid a call and straighten her out.

Maybe Twitter some wisdom to Whitney Houston while you’re at it. (Bobby Brown gives us the creeps.)

Of course, this talentless dope is innocent until proven guilty, but Continue reading »
