Jessica Simpson, Tony Romo Break Up—Just in Time

Yahoo! reports that pop singer/bad actress Jessica Simpson has parted ways with her boyfriend of two years, football player Tony Romo.

We think this guy may have gotten out just in time.

US Magazine reports that the couple split just before Simpson’s Ken and Barbie-themed birthday party earlier this month.

Talentless popstar, celebrating her 29th birthday as Barbie? We agree that dumping a girl the night before her birthday is cruel, but Romo may have made the right decision.

The party, scheduled for July 10, was reportedly canceled because of the break-up, which occurred the night before.

Kevin Jonas Engaged to Girlfriend of Two Years

The eldest Jonas brother, Kevin, and his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa were engaged Wednesday, according to an Associated Press report. The news service reported that the engagement was confirmed by a Jonas’ spokesperson.

The 21-year-old Jonas is part of the hot pop/rock trio the Jonas Brothers, along with siblings Joe and Nick Jonas. In a statement, Kevin’s parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise Jonas, said they were “filled with joy.”

The young couple has not yet set a date. Their engagement was first reported by People magazine. People quoted Kevin Jonas as describing his girlfriend’s reaction as “yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row.”

Jonas met Deleasa, 22, in May of 2007 while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas. A former hairdresser, Deleasa didn’t even know who Jonas was at the time, according to People magazine.

Billy Joel Splits with Third Wife, 33 Years Younger

Billy Joel and his third wife, Katie Lee, have officially split, according to several news reports.

In a statement, the pair said that they remain “caring friends with admiration and respect for each other.” They got hitched five years ago at Joel’s mansion on New York’s Long Island. According to the Associated Press, Joel’s camp refused to comment on whether the two were getting a divorce.

The 60-year-old Joel is one of pop’s most successful singer-songwriters; Katie Lee Joel, 27, hosted the first season of Bravo TV’s “Top Chef.” Several sources speculated that the break up was due to the 33-year age gap between Lee and Joel. “‘They grew apart. She is very career-oriented. She loves going out. She loves the city. When Billy isn’t touring, he’d rather be on Long Island with his motorcycles and boats,” said one friend.

Joel was previously married to his former business manager, Elizabeth Weber Small, and to super-model Christie Brinkley.
