While Rihanna’s first TV interviews addressing former boyfriend Chris Brown’s violent attack on her won’t air until Thursday and Friday of this week (more details on that, here), the singer has already opened up about the assault in an interview online.

In her interview with Glamour, Rihanna reveals that in the aftermath of the attack she felt like her life had become that of Britney Spears, as she was being exploited by gossiping onlookers and paparazzi, and violated by the female police officers accused of Continue reading »

However, the person the world is most curious to hear from in this case, Rihanna, has remained silent on the matter—until now.

ABC is set to air an interview with the 21-year-old singer wherein she will speak about Brown’s violent attack on her for the first time.

We have to say, in the preview video clip provided by ABC, the news anchors promoting the interview seem ghoulishly interested in the details of the beating. The bloodthirsty pair repeatedly emphasizes that Rihanna is supposed to Continue reading »

New Rihanna Single, Chris Brown Tour Announcement

Published October 21st, 2009 by Karen

On Rihanna's website, cryptic artwork alluding to her upcoming album tells fans "the wait is ova Novemeber 23, 2009."

Chris Brown announced he would be embarking on a “fan appreciation” tour on the same day that ex-girlfriend Rihanna released her latest single, a thinly disguised tune about her former relationship with the R&B singer, according to a Reuters report.

According to Reuters, both Rihanna’s single “Russian Roulette” and Brown’s tour announcement were firsts since their relationship ended violently in February.

Brown, 20, was sentenced to five years probation and community service in August for his attack on Rihanna, 21, the night of the Grammy Awards. Brown has since apologized publicly (sort of), but has stayed out of the media spotlight.

Chris Brown has scheduled his first official live performance since pleading guilty to beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna and being sentenced to community labor and probation, according to a report on RollingStone.com

According to the Web site, Brown will perform at New York hip-hop station Power 105’s Powerhouse concert on October 27th at New Jersey’s Izod Center. He will be joined onstage by The-Dream, Fabolous, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Mario and Ginuwine.

Brown’s appearance will come as he tries to promote “Transformer,” the first single off his upcoming album Graffiti. The single, which features a guest spot from Lil Wayne, is expected out soon.

Brown is currently serving a 180-day community labor sentence, and it’s unclear whether the singer has gotten the go-ahead from the Los Angeles court or the Virginia officials overseeing his sentence to perform at the New Jersey concert.

Chris Brown began his community service sentence yesterday by clearing weeds and debris from a police horse stable in Richmond, Virginia, according to an Associated Press report. The 180-day sentence is part of Brown’s punishment for beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February.

According to the AP, the 20-year-old R&B singer worked alongside others with similar sentences cleaning up the area by hand and with yard tools. Although a few curious fans stopped by to see Brown work, there was by no means the scene that some officials had expected. Brown, who was wearing a white tank top, orange vest, baggy jeans and red cap, stopped to wave at fans while he was working.

Brown’s schedule, including work hours and days, will be flexible, and he will be performing different types of manual labor, according to a Richmond police spokesperson.  Brown will also undergoing counseling in Richmond, which is near his home in Montpelier, Virginia.

Worse Apology: Kanye West or Chris Brown? (With Video)

Published September 15th, 2009 by Karen

ABOVE: Chris Brown’s half-hearted apology for beating his girlfriend to a bloody pulp.

Kanye West has a knack for making a fool out of himself on television, a talent he demonstrated over the weekend at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted 19-year-old country star Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to declare that Beyonce should’ve won instead.

The loudmouth was back on TV Monday night, when he appeared on Jay Leno’s new show and offered a rambling apology for his actions.

Frankly, we think his apology seemed about as sincere as Chris Brown’s apology for beating Rihanna (video above).

What do you think?
Do Kanye’s actions influence how much you like or dislike his music?
Do you think Jay Leno should have banned West from the show?

Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Cancelled

The upcoming outdoor concert in Vienna intended to be a global tribute to Michael Jackson has been canceled and is now slated to come off in London next June, according to an Associated Press report.

Event promoter Georg Kindel and Jackson’s brother Jermaine told reporters that too many top performers had scheduling conflicts, and they blamed the media for creating a negative atmosphere. The announcement came just days after entertainers such as Chris Brown and Mary J. Blige were supposedly confirmed for the event.

“The purpose for this show is to give something back to the fans … we have to do this right,” Jermaine Jackson said, dabbing at one of his eyes with a tissue. Everyone who bought tickets to the concert will be issued refunds, he said.

The city of Vienna had initially pledged $870,000 to cover the cost of diverting traffic and for event security, but subsequently withdrew the offer. “Not a cent will be given to the promoter,” the city’s deputy mayor was quoted as saying.

Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole are among the top artists who are scheduled to perform at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna on September 26, according to an Associated Press report.

Organizers of the concert have left open the possibility that superstars like Madonna might also perform at the 17th century palace in Austria’s capitol, where the event will be held. The organizers have said that up to 25 performers will take the stage at the concert, which is being billed as the main global tribute for the King of Pop. More names will be unveiled later this week in London and Berlin.

Sister Sledge, Akon, Angela Bassett, and the Germany-based boy band US5 also are among the 13 artists confirmed so far.

“We’re very excited - the list is growing more and more,” Jackson’s brother Jermaine said, adding that “many major Bollywood names” and artists from the Middle East also would be involved.

"No, they should not get back together. A mistake? This was not some simple "oops" (though Brown once wore a shirt titled that in reference to his beating..."

Chris and Rihanna: Like Romeo and Juliet, or OJ and Nicole?

As if Chris Brown didn’t seem like a big enough creep already, AP reports that the girlfriend-beating singer, “says he doesn’t remember savagely beating Rihanna and claims he still loves his former girlfriend.”

Great, because nothing says “I love you, baby” like hitting, biting and choking a gal.

Worst of all, in its spoiler AP reports that in Brown’s upcoming interviews on CNN and in People magazine, the abusive star claims that he could never stop loving Rihanna.

Although a judge ordered the singers to stay away from each other following Brown’s conviction earlier this month, they are allowed to interact for work-related purposes.

We just hope Rihanna is smart enough to stay away from this guy-he is trouble. We don’t want these two to get back together because they see this as a forbidden romance, or a sort of modern day Romeo & Juliet story (more like OJ Simpson & Nicole Brown disaster).

Unfortunately, after writing about this story in the past, we’ve received many comments/letters from fans who think people are being too hard on Brown, and that the couple should reunite.
