Avril Lavigne’s Complicated Marriage Ends

If, for some strange reason, you’d like to date 25-year-old pop-snot Avril Lavigne, good news: She’s getting a divorce

The singer has cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her split from hubby/Sum 41 pop-punk Deryck Whibley. (Who? Exactly. Think Good Charlotte, but somehow more annoying.)

On the plus side, the Canadian mall-punk power couple called it off before they had a chance to have a baby with a dumber name than the spawn of Ashlee Simpson (lip-syncher) and Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy).

Madonna Getting Paid for Stolen Wedding Photos

Madonna has accepted damages from a British newspaper that published pictures of her off-limits to the media wedding to Guy Ritchie that were stolen from her home, according to an Associated Press report.

The amount that Madonna got was not made public, but she did sue for damages in excess of $8 million, according to the AP. According to Madonna’s lawyer, the award will be donated to Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity.

According to the AP, the pictures were swiped by an interior designer from a wedding album kept in the diva’s Beverly Hills Home and presented to the London newspaper The Mail. The newspaper published the photos without consulting or warning Madonna.

Madonna had gone to great lengths to keep her December 2000 nuptials private. She and Ritchie were divorced earlier this year.

LeAnn Rimes Reveals Divorce Details on Her Web Site

LeAnn Rimes and her husband are getting divorced, according to an Associated Press report.

The 26-year-old country singer announced the end of her union to backup dancer Dean Sheremet on her Web site, telling fans: “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage.”

(We’ve always seen Sheremet’s first name spelled “Dean,” not “Deane.” Is Rimes’s misspelling is a final dig at this poor guy?)

Rimes and Sheremet, 28, were married in February 2002. Tabloid reports have linked Rimes with actor Eddie Cibrian, her co-star in the TV movie “Northern Lights.” Cibrian filed for divorce from his wife of eight years, Brandi, last week.

When the couple announced their separation a few days ago, reports indicated that Rimes was paying for Sheremet to relocate from Tennessee to New York City and start taking classes at the French Culinary Institute.

Shania Twain Love Triangle: Dating Homewrecker’s Ex-Husband

In a case of romantic musical chairs, Shania Twain is now dating a man who was married to the woman who broke up her own marriage to record producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, according to a Reuters report.

Twain’s new companion was identified by Reuters as Frederic Thiebaud. He is the husband of Marie-Anne Thiebaud, Lange’s former secretary and the woman with whom Lange had an affair. The extramarital affront led to the dissolution of Twain and Lange’s 14-year marriage last year.

After the split up, Twain, 44, kept a low profile for a year, but will soon return to the spotlight as a guest judge on American Idol’s new season.

“I hit a very big bump in the road,” Twain told Reuters, “but when I reflect on it all, it’s clear how remarkably active my life has been since last December — a time in the life of someone working hard to ‘move on’ and succeeding.”

LeAnn Rimes Divorce Plans Confirmed During Concert

ABOVE: Soon-to-be-single LeAnn Rimes’s prison-themed video, “Nothin’ Better to Do,” finds the former child star attempting to create a more grown-up image for herself.

News is spreading quickly regarding plans for a divorce between country music superstar LeAnn Rimes and her husband Dean Sheremet. Married for seven years, the pair walked down the aisle when Rimes was just 19 years old.

It will be interesting to see whether the pair blames getting married young as a factor in the split. Sheremet was 21 at the time.

Nas Ordered to Pay $44K Monthly to Kelis

A California judge has ordered Nas to pay Kelis approximately $44,000 in monthly support for the time being, a day after the “Milkshake” singer gave birth to the divorcing pair’s baby boy, according to a Billboard.com report.

According to the report, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Louis Meisinger issued the order at a Thursday hearing. Neither Nas, whose full name is Nasir Jones, nor Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers, were in attendance at the hearing.

Kelis gave birth to the boy, whom she named Knight, at a New York hospital on Wednesday. She filed for a divorce from Nas in April. The couple got married in July 2003.

Nas and Kelis have been fighting over support payments for several months, with Kelis contending that her ex failed to pay the bills related to her pregnancy. Nas has maintained that he has kept up with payments, giving Kelis $30,000 for her expenses and maintaining the couple’s health insurance.

A hearing on whether the payments should be adjusted will be held on September, 8.

Nas recently debuted a new song, a duet with the Beastie Boys called “Too Many Rappers“

Amy Winehouse Cleared of Assault in London

A British judge yesterday acquitted Amy Winehouse on charges of assaulting a fan who was trying to take her picture, according to an Associated Press report.

London District Judge Timothy Workman found the 25-year-old singer not guilty of punching dancer Sherene Flash in the eye after the fan asked to take her photo following a charity event in September.

Billy Joel Has New Flame in Former Soap Star

Billy Joel is apparently in a romantic state of mind again, striking up a new relationship with former ‘Young and the Restless’ star Alex Donnelley whom he met backstage at his July 11 concert in Washington, DC, according to the Web site Popeater.com.

“The two hit it off immediately,” an insider told the entertainment site, which is reporting that the actress, 49, has been spending a lot of time at Joel’s home in New York’s Sag Harbor.

Joel, 60, and his much younger third wife, 27-year-old Katie Lee, announced last month they were splitting after five years. The rumor mill speculated that the breakup might be due to Lee’s flirtations with fashion designer Yigal Azrouel, 36, but Joel’s rep denied this, saying it was strictly related to the large age difference between the two.

Joel reportedly had a prenup in place when he married Lee in October 2004. His nine-year marriage to Christie Brinkley, the mother of their daughter Alexa, ended in 1994. His first marriage, to Elizabeth Weber, also lasted nine years.

Amy Winehouse Divorce, Fan Assault Case Go to Court

Hey, remember Amy Winehouse?

Not so long ago, the “I’m No Good” singer was an up-and-coming British star with a retro look and vocals to match (paving the way for similar artists and look-alikes). Now, she’s just looks like a drag queen’s skeleton wandering around with a black beehive wig and too much eyeliner.

At any rate, the UK singer is making headlines again this morning, not for her music, of course, but for the latest twist in her twisted relationship with jailbird husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
