Madonna has accepted damages from a British newspaper that published pictures of her off-limits to the media wedding to Guy Ritchie that were stolen from her home, according to an Associated Press report.
The amount that Madonna got was not made public, but she did sue for damages in excess of $8 million, according to the AP. According to Madonna’s lawyer, the award will be donated to Madonna’s Raising Malawi charity.
According to the AP, the pictures were swiped by an interior designer from a wedding album kept in the diva’s Beverly Hills Home and presented to the London newspaper The Mail. The newspaper published the photos without consulting or warning Madonna.
Madonna had gone to great lengths to keep her December 2000 nuptials private. She and Ritchie were divorced earlier this year.

Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown and Natalie Cole are among the top artists who are scheduled to perform at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna on September 26, according to an Associated Press report.
Organizers of the concert have left open the possibility that superstars like Madonna might also perform at the 17th century palace in Austria’s capitol, where the event will be held. The organizers have said that up to 25 performers will take the stage at the concert, which is being billed as the main global tribute for the King of Pop. More names will be unveiled later this week in London and Berlin.
Sister Sledge, Akon, Angela Bassett, and the Germany-based boy band US5 also are among the 13 artists confirmed so far.
“We’re very excited - the list is growing more and more,” Jackson’s brother Jermaine said, adding that “many major Bollywood names” and artists from the Middle East also would be involved.
Madonna was booed by thousands of fans during a concert in Romania after she spoke up against prejudice against Gypsies in eastern Europe, according to an Associated Press report.
According to the AP, Madonna paused in the two-hour concert in Bucharest to say that Gypsies, also known as Roma, were discriminated against in Eastern Europe. She said that made her “sad” and nobody should be discriminated against. As soon as the Material Girl finished voicing her opinion, many in the crowd of 60,000 booed her, but she did not react.
Roma musicians and a Roma dancer were featured in Madonna’s concert and were applauded by the audience, according to the AP. There are officially some 500,000 Roma in Romania, but the real number is estimated to be around 2 million. They face prejudice and discrimination in Romania and other east European nations.

Oprah’s favorite Canadian pop nightmare, Celine Dion, is pregnant with her second child thanks to the magic of in vitro fertilzaton, Us Magazine reports.
Aside from the fact that there are zillions of babies that would love to be adopted by, well, anybody, we dread the thought that a few years from now we might be cursed with the music of a second generation of skeletal over-singers.
Due in May, this will be the second child for Dion, 41, and 67-year-old husband, Rene Angelil. We really really don’t want to be mean but, seriously, by the time the new baby is 18, Angelil will be 85…that doesn’t seem like a lot of fun for anyone involved. We wish them the best though.

Female artists ruled Forbes magazine’s Top-Earning Musicians list of the year, with Madonna, Celine Dion and Beyoncé taking the top three spots, according to a report last week on RollingStone.com
Madonna, who set records with her sold-out Sticky & Sweet tour and had international success with her Hard Candy album, made roughly $110 million to top the list of profits earned from June 2008 to June 2009. (Her expensive divorce from Guy Ritchie was not factored into the equation.)
Dion came in second with $100 million, followed by Beyoncé, who made $87 million thanks to touring, I Am… Sasha Fierce album and promotional deals. Bruce Springsteen was the top earning rocker, coming in fourth with $70 million on the strength of a successful tour, Working on a Dream album and his Super Bowl performance.
Despite the recession, overall numbers were up considerably from last year: This year’s top 10 made a combined $719 million, while 2008’s top 10 only earned $500 million all together.

Malawi’s highest court has granted Madonna “Mercy.” The court overruled a lower court’s ruling and said that the pop diva can adopt 3-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James from the small, southern African country, according to an Associated Press report.
According to the report, Madonna’s lawyer informed her of the decision very early Friday morning in New York and said he would now arrange a passport for Chifundo, which could take several days. He said he was awaiting word from Madonna on travel plans for the girl.
Meanwhile, James Kambewa, a man who claims to be the little girl’s father, told CBS news “I’m crying. I need my baby. I don’t know where I can find any help,” the network said.
But the ruling said the judges saw only two options for Chifundo; “either to stay at the orphanage without the love of family and live with the possibility of destitution, or be with Madonna where she is assured of love. Every child has he right to love,” it said.
Madonna adopted a son, David, from Malawi last year, but her request to adopt Mercy was originally turned down in April when a lower court said the star had not spent the required amount of time in Malawi.
