Best Michael Jackson Parodies from Werewolf Bar Mitzvah to Weird Al

Published July 7th, 2009 by Karen

ABOVE: “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah” combines “Thriller” with “Monster Mash.” Brilliant.

After a week of searching for the right way to pay tribute to the late King of Pop and his creepy public memorial, we’ve finally figured it out.

In honor of Michael Jackson’s classic werewolf/zombie dance video, “Thriller,” we’ve found the greatest MJ tribute/parody ever.

We’ve got something much better: Comedian/30 Rock star Tracy Morgan’s “Thriller”-meets-”Monster Mash” spin-off, “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah.” A few seconds of the song appeared briefly in an episode of the sitcom 30 Rock, but the silly track was such a hit that a full length version of the song was released shortly after the episode aired.

Watch the “Thriller”-inspired music video from the TV show above, then check out the entire three minute Morgan song below.

Seriously, it’s awesome.

This colorful group didn’t write parody lyrics to this song (c’mon, making a Katy Perry song sound sillier would be difficult), but they did rework Perry’s dance-pop hit “Hot’n'Cold” into a classic polka, complete with accordion.

We’re sure this probably started as a joke, but we think it’s actually much, much better than the original. What do you think? Continue reading »
